Hi
I am planning to visit London on Sunday, around Marble Arch area. I believe that street parking is available, but only in certain streets (not resident parking areas etc.). Can anyone point me in the direction of a few streets in this area where it is safe and free to park during the day?? Or even wehre it is metered but reasonable (i.e. not NCP's £1.70 for 15 minutes!!)
Cheers

Kensington and Chelsea Council has introduced free parking every Saturday throughout April in an effort to help businesses

apart from that you are not going to find free parking in that area of Westminster Council

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply. Excuse my ignorance but is Marble Arch area under one of these councils? Also do you know if this does extend to Sundays?

Isn't the London Marathon this Sunday? It might be v tough finding parking... Sorry for the lack of assistance, but public transport might be a better bet if possible.0

Parking meters and bays are free on sundays you just have to find one !
I would suggest parking around holborn e.g. queens square access from old gloucester st/ boswell st or even red lion square and then walk to holborn station 5 mins away. From there take the tube or bus to marble arch.
there is always parking there.0 -

Hmm, did see it was marathon day, although it is more Greenwich and around the river.
Public transport is an option, although one of our party has a tube adversity!! Bus is an option, although naively never really looked into the ease of these. Is it a straight run from Holborn area to Marble Arch??

Indeed it is a straight run from Holborn to Marble arch, in fact you can catch the 98 bus from red lion square straight to your destination.
check TFL website for more
dont think holborn is affected by the central london road closures.
good luck;)0
