can i get a mortgage on a french property

that is completely paid off but it needs renovation. i am self employed. with the renovation it will enable us to run a gite/walkers retreat on the pilgrim's trail to spain.

    Don't know the answer but these are a very long established brokers who specialise in overseas mortgages so they might be able to help:

    Not a recommendation, I've never used them and when I was looking for an overseas mortgage I thought their fees were quite expensive. However, I would imagine, unless you can borrow from your French Bank, you're going to need some specialist help to get a renovation mortgage.
