What is the lowest minimum payment

I am posting this on behalf of my neighbour who does not have access to the internet. I am afraid I am not in full possesion of all the facts but if any of you need more info then I can ask her and if she is willing, will let you know.

We were talking today and she was saying how much she is struggling with only £5 a week to buy food for herself and her 2 children. She is paying back debt's for her council tax, family tax credit and water (I think there is a couple of others but am not sure). What is the minimum that she can offer to repay a week/month? I thought it was something like £2 a week. She is paying £20 a month each (I think). She went to the CAB and she said the lady she saw there treated her like the lowest of the low and said what she was paying was fine. Any advice with this minimum infomation would be gratefully recieved.

  • The lowest amount you can offer is what your friend can afford. if thats £1 then thats how much it is.

Sorry she was treated so badley at the CAB. The agreements she has made for pyments are they legally binding set in court or just what she has been asked for. If just what asked for tell her to do a SOA and send this off to the creditors outlining her expenditure with realistic amounts for food kids etc and highlighting how much she can afford and go from there.

Hope it works out for her she can't survive on £5 a week for her and kids
