We don't know what your interview is for.
You could lie about your last job, but if they find out at a later date, or when seeking references...0 -
Aparently standing-up while on the phone helps, as does getting dressed as you would a face to face interview, I know sounds odd but it kinda puts you in the right frame of mind. keep a copy of your CV to hand, and any corrospondance they have sent you.
Pre-prepare the questions your most likely to get asked ie.
Tell me about yourself ?
What are your strengths/weakness ?
your work history and anything you have put on your CV
the good ole 5 years time question
etc
plus a few others depending what line of work you're in.
not sure about the last job, hmm dont mention it if they dont ask, be honest otherwise, gloss over if possible and think of some sort of positive you got out of the situation. (pre-prepare this answer too)0 -
hi, for previous job for being fired ive come up with why did u leave old job? I LEFT IT BECAUSE I FELT LIKE IT WASNT GOING ANYWHERE AND THAT I WANTED NEW EXPERIENCES AND I BELEAVE YOUR COMPANY WOULD BE THAT COMPANY FOR ME TO GAIN THIS even tho i was fired ould that be ok if they did check up0

you might get away with that but a keen recruiter will pick it apart, honesty is the best policy in these cases, address why you were fired and what you learned from it... and pray they dont ask you why you left your last job.
although everything does depend on what your applying for.
ps avoid statements where your essentially asking the company for a favor (ie you can give me new experiences) the emphasis should be on what YOU can do for the company and then your needs later.0 -
If it's a phone interview, you can make notes on good answers to likely questions. *Not* to read like a script, but to prompt your memory.
In terms of being fired - one way to spin it might be 'I really struggled with [skill that's nothing much to do with this job] and was let go because of this...I'm applying to you to give me a chance to use [skills which you can demonstrate, and do relate to the new job]'. Depends why you were actually fired, though! Lying is risky - won't they want a reference from your last employer?0
