I wanna be able to ring someone in Australia either on a mobile or landline without using my home phonebill ie via a prepaid card - does anyone know of the cheapest way to do this please?

I've been using telesavers for a couple of years now for Aussie, only 1p per min. You use the access number with your home phone and then dial the destination number...never have any problems with them. Charges appear listed on my ntl bill.

I use https://www.18185.co.uk calls to landline are just a half pence per minute.

See the call checker on this site for other options.

Have a search on this site for "VOIP". Its a PC to phone line service or call other voip users.
Austrailia is one of the countries its free to call to landlines. When you start with Voip you now have to put £10 credit on to your account that lasts 120 days .

Please note that when i say credit lasts 120 days thats the max amount of time it will stay showing as a credit if you just use the service for the free calls (as I do)

Can i just add I didnt set my own Voip up I just use it (useless me is) which is why I said its best to search the site for more info with users that know more about it.

    Hope that helps!

If you dont want anything to appear on your Home Bill at all.You would have to use an indirect access service like 18185. Otherwise if you have itemised billing the access code eg 0844/0800 etc could well appear. ;)

If you have a o2 contract you can use 0870/0844 numbers to call australia free from your minutes - only the 0870/0844 numbers will show up on your bill rather than the aussie number. :)
