Tax code mix-up and what I need to do?

Hi all,

I need a little advice if possible. In January I got a letter from tax office giving me a new tax code. I've just got my first pay slip for new tax year and have been paid on last year's tax code.

Having consulted "listentotaxman" I understand I am £47 out of pocket because of the failure to update tax code.

My company has confirmed they have the tax code but it arrived too late for this month's pay, but will be applied for end of May wage payment.

Will my end of May salary pay back the £47 I missed this month, or do I need so submit a claim to my tax office?

Thanks

You will get any tax your may have overpaid during April, back, via your wages, when your employer uses the updated tax code.
