Table Decorations Crystals?

Our venue say there won't be much space on the tables for decorations such as flowers etc once the tables are fully set out (not worrying too much about this or should I?) but I thought a sprinkle of crystals just to decorate & personalise the tables might be nice. But I have to admit I've never actually seen this in real life, has anyone else done this or has any opinions please let me know?
Also if you have any mse recomendations (ie inexpensive suppliers) please advise.
I am of course thinking of lilac ones, initially I thought of confetti but have to say the lilac/purple confetti I have seen has a tendedcy to look a bit rubbish.

I saw a table laid out with crystals at a wedding fayre I went to recently & it looked gorgeous! I have since purchased some swavorski crystals for our tables, which I love! There are cheaper acrylic ones available also, which although not quite as sparkly, still look really pretty. Both types are available in clear & coloured also. Our wedding theme colour is red (H2B is huge Liverpool FC fan!) so I'm going to sprinkle mostly clear, with some red as an accent for the colour scheme. I'm going to have some crystals on the tables too. One local supplier wanted £12 for a bag of 50 so I had a look on E-bay and you can get them cheaper there.

Aw thanks girls, who did you get them from on ebay I have seen a few on there but the cheapest I found had some neg feedback.

i got mine from ebay and i must say they are fanastic they are just acrilic but dont look it they look like diamonds heres the link for the purple ones they have they are 6.5mm so a decent size ,

i had 2 lots of the orange ones and they are gorgeous , they did take a few wks to come but worth it xx

I'm sure even in the tiniest space, you can fit one of those very slim tall vases and pop even a single flower in it. I'm looking for something simple and these wouldn't take much more space than a 50p piece.

Like the single rose on this site maybe.....

It's probably cheaper to have a single flower and cheap ikea vase than the table crystals. I thought they were quite pricey last time I looked (thought I do agree that they are nice)..

That's great Deb's , is the 4.5mm a nice size or did you get the bigger size? at £2.73 for 1000 might get a pack of lilac and purple.

Does anyone think the swarovski crystals would look nice around the edge of the wedding cake? I have a cake topper for the centre

Thanks Debs I ended up buying 1000 lavender &1000 diamond crystals for Just over £5.50 might even have enough left over for a treasure chest for my daughter.
