Howdo,
I got an egg poacher on saturday from Tesco.
It was meant to be 'non-stick', but its stickier than a stick viz when i try to get the eggs outta it I have to practically scrape them out with a spoon and its harder to wash than my stinking feet.
Needless to say, i want to return the thing . Not sure if i kept the receipt or shredded it; will have to look. But do the MSEs out there know whether or not tesco will giv us me £9 back???

In my experience Tesco's are usually really good with this sort of thing and as it presumably still looks nearly new apart from bits of egg stuck to it I wouldn't think you'd have any problems.
cheers, Baggio.0 -
Remember, you're not returning it because you don't like it: you are rejecting it because it is not as described.0

Thanks for the posts guys...
now i just need to find the receipt0 -
You don't need the receipt... A store does not legally have to provide a receipt for an item purchased, so cannot make you show one when returning a product. To be honest, as one of the previous posters said, Tesco are usually pretty good with this kind of thing, and if it's something like this they should refund you no problem.

i have a friend *ahem* who works CS in tesco
*he* says you will b able 2 get it exchanged cos its faulty. As for a refund.. its a dodgy one.. but your unlikely to get it
u could exchange it against your shopping tho0 -
Thanks for the advice rharper83, I've just shredded the reciept. But now im having second thoughts-how will they know if ive just picked it off the shelf and took it to the cs desk?, how will they know if i bought it five years ago?, and how will they know if the price has changed since i bought it?
Does this mean that when things are on special offer, i can buy loads and get my money back with a bonus when they come off offer?
OR MAYBE YOU DO NEED A RECIEPT AS EVIDENCIAL PROOF OF PURCHASE?!0 -
Did you have your clubcard swiped when you bought it ? - that will be evidence.
I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

if you dont have a receipt normally they refund what the price is instore on that day, if you have no receipt you wont get cash back but like said before against your shopping etc, for them thinking you just took it off the shelf well im sure even they know you couldnt have done that and poached a egg washed it and brought it back..
Take it back and if any probs come back on and then we can tell you whats best to doThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -

If you bought it relatively recently and used your clubcard they will be able to find a record of the sale fairly quickly.
Indeed if you register your clubcard on Tesco's website you will be able to generate a list of everything you bought over the last few months. I print one out from time to time as an aide memiore for the weekly shopping list.
Have you been to the store yet? That gum you like is coming back in style.0
