    Hi fluffymuffin,

A climber eh! One of my fav films is Cliffhanger (hangs head in shame) and I've been trying to do rock climbing for a few years now. Will try it one day (even though scared of heights).

Anyway, good luck with your diary, I find they really help to stay motivated, I even find myself confessing things on mine, I just can't help it - it makes sense to be honest. Will subscribe and check back for updates.
  • few things have happened in the last few days. My Barcalycard arrived with my 6.8% life of balance transfer rate - yay - I cna only transfer £3500 though of the £10k which is a bit disappointing but still a step in the right direction.

Had a great weekend and didn't spend much - out on Friday for happy hour £6 wine (as standard!). Stayed in an cooked on Sat eve and treated myself to a take away on Sunday night. Not too bad.

Have bought myself some waterproof trousers for the alps - managed to get them in an outlet store £31.50 from £70 - bargain althoug they're a bit big.

Ordered a couple of pressie for my boyfriends birthday - used figleaves code for free postage and packaging and got him some on sale Calvin Kleins (£9.50 from £20 plus free postage) and found an awesome book he'll love in a second hand shop - its from 1927 1st edition and was £10 - he'll love it I'm well pleased.
  • ooh sorry Swinstie - thansk for your comments - climbing is awesome! So much fun I wuld recommend you have a go. I'm SUCH a woos its untrue and I manage it :-)

    Hi fluffymuffin,

There is a new gym near where my OH lives that has an indoor rock climbing section so defo will check it out. I think it looks amazing hanging from rocks in the style of Sly, ha!

Good stuff on the pressies, it's great when you get bargains but it's a present he will like, good going!
  • indoor is defo the way to go to learn - its more fun on real rock - but also scarier lol.

Ok so the big thing that happened today was out out of the blue my building society offered me a reduced rate on my mortgage. Cutting it from 5.99% to 5.19%. I have to sign up to a new 5 year deal but its saving me about £85 a month which is great. Can hopefully ue that to pay off my other debts.

Also the lady who owns the horse that I part loan (you may be gathering I have quite a few hobbies) has just found someone else to come in and part loan so in a month or so the cost for this will come down a bit too.

All steps in the right direction and more importantly gives me options so if something were to happen least I've got a bit more flexibility.

hmm had a naufght couple of days! Went out last night to a gig I've had tickets for for ages. Spent about £20 - not the end of the world but not so great either and treated myself to a sandwich from the shop at lunch which was quite expensive. Ah well. not going out tonight - will have to make up for it next week by being hermit like and doing home lunch.

not a spectacular weekend for money saving due to long drive home and associated fuel. Still didn't go out and drink much wine on any night - stayed in and cooked nice dinner instead. Monthly shop done for £55 including food for the cats so thats not bad.

Going out with my friend tonight - Orange Wednesdays at the cinema! Yay!
