Would this be possible?

We have a timber house in the uk with a mortgage from the Ecology bs. We want to use it for holiday letting but they are currently saying they won't let us-although we are appealing.

Hubbie pays tax in Norway as he works on the rigs and we know Norway have more leeway with wooden houses. We were wondering if we might be able to remortgage with a Norwegian bank? Would this be possible???

No. I don't think so at least.

Not overly familiar with Norwegian lending policies I'm afraid but you may be able to remortgage in this country.

Is it timber framed or completely timber? There are specialist lenders out there (Ecology are a little bit that way but not completely), you would be well advised to seek the help of a quality local broker who has access to the whole of the market as it will be a bit of a job placing the deal.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!

There may be a handful of lenders - the holiday let throws it out of criteria for most lenders.

The other factor, is of course what the property is worth and the value of the mortgage
