What are the odds on an 'austerity budget'? (ie cutting Govt spending in the face of a recession.

Reminds me of that rather risque joke by Neil Clary about 'fisting' and Gordon Lamont having a red box... ;)

He is raising tax on the highest paid to 50pc from April next year. That's an increase from the 45pc already planned, and a year early. It will also apply to people who earn more than £100,000, not £150,000.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Ok, he has just announced about an extra £100 for disabled children into their trust funds....I assume these are the same trust funds that were brought in only a few years ago and not for those who are still children but were born before the trust funds were brought in.

Or am I missing some important info here?

    Very confused here now.....

Edit - Just looked it up, my severely disabled youngest son was born 4 years too late and my moderately disabled middle son 5 and a half years too late.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Yeah.

Apparently, the shinny new one box Crash Gordon bought with his equity withdrawl in 1998 has been reposessed, so it's back to the old box.

What equity withdrawal in 1998? Back then we were in higher levels of inherited debt which he spent the first 4 years paying off. The big government spending which I assume you are referring to didn't happen until the 2nd term.

some people just can't see a decent house price joke, any more...

    "equity" was the clue.
