Best value for cruises

Hi,

Me and the gf are planning to go on a cruise this June.. more specifically, around the mediterranean on the Sea Princess (Princess cruises) on the 3rd for 2 weeks.

Does anyone know the best way to get good value tickets? We've waited a few weeks and seen ticket prices drop a few hundred pounds (we're just looking for the cheapest possible on that cruise) but i really want to book it and start looking forward to it.

So.. any good tactics/places to look, for cheap tickets? How long should we wait for the optimum price?

Thanks!

Bolsover Cruise Club http://www.bolsovercruiseclub.co.uk/default.asp?Page_ID=2993&Parent_ID=1759 are doing that one starting at £1326

Cruiseline are doing it even cheaper http://www.cruiseline.co.uk/itinerarydetails.php?itineraryid=18915&fromCategory=4

Also worth having a look at teletext Holidays
  • Sorry, should have said the best quote I've had is £1029 from a few firms I found on the teletext holiday website. I really want to get this cruise sub-thousand.

    Thanks though

IMHO you won't get it for less than that anywhere.

Just make sure the Teletext prices include all port taxes.

    Hi Ringo,
Agree totally with RH. 14 nights for £1029 is working out at approx £73 per night for full board, all entertainment etc., Thats pretty cheap for that time of the year and you should take the opportunity to do something about it whilst you can. By the way, for the price quoted, its probably for an inside cabin on quite a low deck, but time spent in the cabin is negligible anyway. I would be interested in which cruise companies have quoted you this price as I could quite fancy a trip round the med at this time of year and more importantly at this price. Regards - Sallysaver

Just found this in today's Mail:

Princess Cruises: Sea Princess 14 nights from 21 April 2006 inside cabin from £699, Outside Cabin from £899. I understand the flight has a stopover in New York before taking you to Miami.

Fly Miami/Fort Lauderdale - Princess Cays - Day at Sea - Tortola (British Virgin Islands) - Dominica - Antigua - 4 Days at Sea - Ponta Delgada (Azores) - 3 Days at Sea - Southampton.

    The company advertising are : https://www.cruiseclassified.com - cruiseID=12951
  • It's close.. but not quite right :)

    Cheers for trying though..

Sallysaver - the quote was through teletext

These have been very good to us in the past. They have just knocked us £600 off the price of a cruise to Antarctica next year compared to the cruise line. Can't do enough for us. Give them a call and see what they can do.

You have been quoted for an inside cabin though.

so its worth playing one against the other
Find all companies that have your cruise for around the same price then try each one to get it down bit by bit
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

I use a site called https://www.cruisecompete.com . You register then plug in what you are looking for and it gets sent to dozens of cruise brokers who email back with quotes. It has worked very well for me but I've only used it for America and the Carribean. They will probably quote in Dollars.

  • Whilst living in New Zealand last year I wished to go to Tahiti for a cruise. I did massive websearches (UK/US/Oz/NZ sites) and found the US sites best value. Though most would not allow non-US citizens to book. However I found https://www.cruiseshopping.com who did and booked through them. Managed to get a balcony room for the price of an internal room from the NZ agents.

However had to return to the UK due to family illness and cancelled the trip. Got a full discount.

They have this cruise for £979 sterling after conversion.

    Happy cruising.
