Not much support here for us poor jobcentre workers, instead of people blaming us for their finances and lack of benefit try writing to MP's and complain about the system.
Have you ever tried sitting there day in day and getting nothing but abuse from no good waste of space lazy idioits for several years who will come up with any excuse not to work?
For years there has been various job opportunites but we have been dealing with people who don't want any help and certainly don't want a job, after putting up with abuse for years workers become very thick skinned. All of a sudden we have no jobs, no staff, no training and registers that have doubled and people who actually want help. We are allocated a certain amount of time to see everyone and then justify exactly what we are doing, but still getting the abuse because we are unable to help them:mad:
A few years ago you had seperate jobcentre and benefit office so you could speak face to face with either agency now all benefits are dealt with by the 0845 number and whether e agree or not jobcentre workers are not allowed nor do we have access to answer any quieries about you benefit.

    please give us a break:confused:

Some offices only have 1 depends how many incidents have occured at that office. Shows exactly how much crap, abuse and violence we have to put up with.

Someone in our office ended up with a nice shiner today but will be expected back at work tomorrow.

Consider me biased as I work for the jobcentre now.

BUT - I was on the sick for nearly two years and when I felt ready for work I found that my advisor in the jobcentre was a very lovely person. She gave me great advice helped me find a job and I'll always be greatful for the help she gave me and I don't think I could have found a job without her help.

Staff from any company are the same. Some are !!!!!! some are great! Had a problem with Scottish Power lately and most were idiots who couldn't help me but the last person I spoke to was bloody amazing and sorted everything out for me.

    Just my little ramble :)

:jThanks for the support, if only we were allowed to offer help where help is needed, stop money when it's isn't deserved and decide how long and how often we can spend with people the service would be great.

As you say every company has good and bad staff but how often do people actually get praised? We all work better with a bit of thanks and apprechiation. So next time anyone visits a jobcentre and is thankful for the help please let the adviser or member of staff know. For one person sayings thanks it makes dealing with the other 99 more bearable.:rotfl:

overpaid, yea right, considering how many times the jobs have been advertised for jobcentre workers you should be well aware that the salaries are nowhere near what the goverment class as an average salary. After 8 years and promotion within the service my lorry driving husband earns twice what I do. We certainly don't get the perks and I am certainly not employed to be abused and threatened by members of the public.

Yes employed to offer and provide a service which I do to the best of the tools I am able to work with. I cannot offer or deliver what the goverment don't provide:confused:
