My husband found a cheque from the Inland Revenue, dated 04/10/1995 for £19.02 made out to his old business, in which he was in a Partnership with a friend.
We are still in touch with this person, he has his won business, as does my husband.
I know its not much money, but I wonder whether it is possible to get this cheque sent again in new names? it is the principal really! I pay enough tax as it is
I would appreciate if anyone could give me some advice.

Your husband's tax records for 1995 will have been destroyed by now, so I doubt very much whether HMRC could replace this cheque. Financial records only have to be kept for 6 yrs, so even the bank it was drawn on would not have records.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

But he has the actual cheque, so wouldnt that be proof?0 -
I am not sure it would be enough proof as he could have reported the cheque missing and been issued with a duplicate, again outside the previous 6 yrs and there would be no record.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
