Congrats, I can't wait for the day that I can get rid of one off the list!

Thanks, Gary - it's a really good feeling to cross even one off the list, so when I look at my spreadsheet now and see only 4 more debts plus the mortgage, the relief is incredible.

Keep going, and you'll get there!
  • Yay. :j :j :j

    Well done you. :T :T :T

    Redundancy very rubbish

Paying off debts with pay out very cool.

Good luck with your new job. :D

Thank you - I don't mean this to come across as boasting, but I have been incredibly lucky, and I am so grateful for that.

I've survived the first week in the new job: the people have been great, and I think that once I get into the work and fully understand what I'm doing - it's something I've never done before - it'll be really interesting.

That's great news! Living debt free will lead to a longer, lower stress life.

Thank you. Still got a little way to go, but this year I will have paid off a significant chunk of debt - by December, assuming that myplans for paying stuff off for the rest of the year pan out, I'll have paid off almost £24k.

And from when I had my LBM, back around 2001, I'll have paid off almost 60% of my total debt.
  • Wow! Well done you.

What is it they say, every cloud has a silver lining :D

Best of luck in your new job too :j

Thank you - it's been a long haul so far, but this will make a significant inroad into my total debt.

well done on paying off the debt. but also well done on getting a job so soon afterwards. It has been really horrible on here of late, for how many people are being made redundant, so it is great to see a positive story for once

    Wow meerkat, that's excellent news. :T :j

Congratulations on the new job and getting rid of all those creditors. Glad to hear that the new colleagues are great too; that makes work a whole lot better. :D
  • Getting a job straight away deserves a medal in the current climate, well done.
