hi all.
well i thought i would pop on to let you know that today finally came thank god and my husband has been declared bankrupt!:j
we are jumping for joy,not because of the financial situation but because the harrassment from creditors in the past 2 months was getting worse and now they will hopefully go away!
heres how our day went: got to court for his 9.15 apt, both of us had very little sleep the past few nights due to the worry of it all.a really nice lady called him into a room, went through the petition with him and a few mistakes had been made.she then went over it all as to confirm it with him.he then gave her the money and went to swear the oath.
she told him that the judge would go over the petition and stamp it if there were no problems.she said that she would ring my husband this afternoon either way(if she rang because of a problem then he would have to go back to court today).
well im sure you all know how we felt waiting hours for the phonecall but it was worth the wait and at about 3pm he received the call to say he was declared bankrupt and given a reference number for the creditors when they hassle him.the official receiver will be ringing him in the next 2 days and the court are going to send the paperwork stamped in the post.
the relief was enormous and i was emotional but happy that it has ended at last.
the clerk told hubby that she deals with 30 cases of BR a day at the moment.
i thought i would share the outcome of my story to help others.when the day comes i hope that you will feel as we do today and that it wasnt that bad at all!
finally id like to say a huge thankyou to everyone that has helped myself and my husband get through this up to this stage and i hope that i can help some people now like others have helped me.thankyou all so much,i really appreciate it.a round of applause for you all.xx:T

congratulations on being bankrupt...?
Oh here we go, time to spell it out again.
Not congratulations on being bankrupt. Congratulations on facing up to your problems and taking what is potentially the biggest step to sorting your life out once you have realised that you have a problem.
It's not as though we applaud the causes of it, but what's done is done, and going bankrupt and having the guts to face up to it is something to be applauded.BR 08/04/09 | ED 02/10/09

It took a hell of long time to realise there was a problem then if bankruptcy was the only way out.If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
