How long to allow?

We sent a letter of complaint to the CSA which was signed for on the 30th March, and have verbally acknowledged several times since.
We're still, however, waiting for any sort of written response from them.
How long should we leave it before escalating the issue?
We've also received a letter from our MP with a copy of the letter they sent to them yesterday too. Will this affect the handling of the complaint in anyway?
Thanks
Ellie

Hi,
well the CSA give you 14 days to responsed to their letters so I've always done the same in return ..... and constantly called them just to check they've received the letters of course ...
So I'd start chasing them up now.0 -
We sent a letter first class recorded on 30th March. I called them yesterday to check the progress and was told they didn't receive it till the 17th April!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked

remember that its gotta go through the post which takes a few days then gets opened at the csa then post is sorted and sent to correct department, then it goes to the bottom of the pile, whilst they deal with the correspondence that they already have, which so very behind anyway.0

Why don't you track your letter on the Royal Mail website? You should be able to find out the exact date that your letter was delivered to the CSA.
As catenorfolk says, it then has to go through their internal mail. I would ask them exactly why it takes 17 to 18 days to get to the right department.0 -
I dont think it necessarily take 17 odd days to get to department, i think it is a case as to when they actually get to deal with that particular query. To be honest altho we slate the CSA, the most of the general staff are just doing their best with the facilities they have. I, for one, have not always agreed with them, but i know i would be in a much much worse state without them and their help so far. In my case it is my ex feeling he shouldnt have to support his kids.0

They have 2 days to get an acknowledgmetn off to you, they then have 20 days to get the real answer off to you. If they fail to do this you go to ICE and they will uphold your complaint on this point, and you should get a compension payment, apx £25.00.
Hope this helps.0 -
