I am very happy to say that I was one of the lucky winners! I haven't had a chance to read it cover to cover, but have had a good flick through and have been impressed by what I've seen so far.

The book covers a huge variety of London treats, covering some of the obvious (best parks in London) to plenty of not so obvious (smoke a shisha of apple tobacco anyone?).

Don't get too hung up on the title; some activities are completely free, and some, as the book title suggests, are under a tenner, (but bear in mind this is obviously per person, not including travel there, not including taking your kids who will demand ice cream etc). Although there are plenty of great value days out, some features - such as, where to buy good quality chocolate for a tenner, may not appeal to those who are penny pinching!

I love London and have lived here for over 15 years, and it's a privaledge to live in a city where you can see, do or take part in almost anything you can think of. So, the book has done London justice. It's a great city to write about and who best to write about it than Time Out.

The book also features articles titled "a few of my favourite things" written by the likes of Johhny Vaughan and Leslie Grantham, who talk about the things they love to do in London. There are also articles written by Time Out journalists. Otherwise all listings have at least a good brief description, and many are more detailed. There are photos throughout the book which break it up and give it some colour.

I was so pleased to have won this book as it's ideal for someone like me - on a budget, likes to get out and about, experience new things and keen to explore London. I would definitely recommend it.
