    Hiya Hellypelly,

Far as I know it should be available from pretty much any pharmacy from 22nd April.

Bear in mind though that the people who have to sell them need to undergo training etc first, and that you will need to have a chat with someone regarding if they are actually suitable for you first of all. (I'll not go into specifics as this is discouraged on the boards, but you need to meet certain criteria before it will be deemed suitable for you and allowed to be sold).

The best bet to be honest is to actually go into your local pharmacy and ask! I'm pretty sure they will give you a brief run down of when it's expected into store and what is involved before the date!

They are £7.20 a month on prescription - if you are 2 stone overweight, and have lost some weight already the doc might prescribe them :)

    No problem hellypelly :)

nomoneytoday and onetomany, yes whilst they may be cheaper on prescription and a higher strength, you do have to appreciate that firstly you have to meet certain criteria to be allowed them (both from the GP and in the pharmacy - they're an aid to slimming) and secondly that monitoring is essential to their use. As such follow-up appointments are essential with the GP. Some people who work full-time etc may find it far more easier to access pharmacists than to take time off work in order to try to get a GP appointment (I'm sure many people here would agree they're more difficult to get nowadays than a grabbit bargain!)

I realise this is a moneysaving site, but I thought I'd just point out it only is so if the doctors appointments don't inconvience you by the same amount :)

    Hi everyone,
Sally here from Boots. Just to let you all know that you can buy alli online via the Boots pharmacy, which is fully approved by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and therefore a reputable source.
    Thanks.

i thought you had to have a BMI of 28 before you could get them + had to have regular check ups .
