Do not touch this lot with a barge pole. You can do the same thing here for £1 per creditor plus the cost of a regsitered letter.

Also the debt is NOT written off.

If you request the CCA (which is what this company will do) and the creditor does not have the proper documentation, then the debt becomes unenforceable. You can them choose whether to pay, how much to pay and protect yourself from legal action.

If the documents are correct, you have to pay.

As it happens there is a great thread on here posted today about one of the companies that buy unenforceable debts. They have been forced by the OFT to stop chasing debt for which they cannot provide a legally valid CCA.

    1) Never heard of this.
You owe the creditor a debt. They will give you 10% of this debt - for what in return? Are they intending on reclaiming charges or PPI? Is the debt unenforcable to begin with? Doesn't sound right to me.

    2) Give me £300 and i'll hopefully win the lottery and pay off your loan.
You can do this yourself with letters from the board - as mentioned above, there are a few ways to go about it.

I would avoid these companies. There a re quite a few threads already on the board about them and how the governmnet have been so concerned that they are overseen by the ministry of justice.

  • A company has approached me saying my loans (pre April 2007) may be written off. They offer two routes...
    1) They will buy the loan from me for 10% of the amount owed? Is this legal? what could happen to my credit history?
    2) I need to pay about £500 and they will hopefully get the loan written off in total?
    hmmm...sceptical is the emotion?

I also believe in the tooth fairy ... :rotfl:
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
