Take for example, if I decided to put a house on the market for £20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

I might do that this weekend, see if I can cause a few aneurysms for the HPCers when the results come out next month.

Lol, you know I couldn't stay away too long with this kind of bait Dan. Notice anything different from the picture below, it's from March 2007:D................... the Daily Express....... with headlines only slightly less fictitious than the Daily Sport.;)

Welcome back Ad. I knew you wouldn't stay away for long, which im glad about being one of the more resonable bears who can look at things from different angles.

Nice find above. I suppose in March 2007 House Prices were still soaring as the peak followed that summer. And the Daily Mail: House Price Boom Over - how right they were!

If you get over 2000 posts, this site is worse than crack to overcome as an addiction, I also thought about all those bulls getting an easier ride, and the poor FTB'r who might just take the dive, that I might be able to save:D......... my conscience wouldn't let me go.

I did read you post afterwards, I think it was yours, who said I was off down the estate agents....... lol, well not quite yet, but you guys will be the first to know when I take the plunge.

Confidence is slowly returning. The banks rapidly re-introducing 90% LTV mortgages is a key sign of this.

I remember people argued that once the recession and property falls hit the mainstream media, prices would fall even faster, and this has since been proved correct. Why wouldn't this work the other way round?

Where is confidence returning ?. Several building societies have just been downgraded.

It takes a considerable amount of time to build up confidence and we have yet to emerge from the recession

Agreed. It is very addictive. Sometimes I wonder how I get any work done. The bulls have been getting an easy ride over the last couple of weeks, and it's been great winding a certain few up, but im sure they will get their own back shortly.

The whole bull and bear thing winds me up, because people choose to be a bull or bear on what they WANT the market to do, in order to fit there own agenda. If that was the case I should be a bear as i'll be looking to trade up around 2013/2014. Unfortunaly some of the predictions banded around are complete tosh, so that's why I come accross bullish.

Never a truer statement has been said, either here, HPC or any other board discussing house prices, I guess in a way it's like a kind of banter you have down the pub after a few ales. Nobody is going to change sides, but it is kinda fun, except the last week or two, it's been tough for the bears......... it's very difficult to get any other message across when the media is ramping, whether they are right or not, some headlines have been a little misleading over the last couple of weeks.

Lending up, LIBOR down, increased market activity, what more do you want?
