You can get cards for £1 in Clintons, nice ones too.

Re pressies - go to a local market and get a small bunch of flowers, should cost about £3-4. Done.

One year I got a passport photo of me (actually taken for work so free!) and bought a tiny photo frame with gems round the edge and gave mum that. She loved it and it's still on her dressing table!

Luckily my mum doesn't go in for Mother's Day as she believes it's a racket, so if I got her nothing she'd be happy!

  • I usually buy my mum a bunch of flowers and give her a hug. I think she prefers the hug!

    Definately make something.

as my mum lives so far away Im getting the paper and glitter out and making "to the best mummy in the whole world" style kids card, which she will love.

She might get some fairy buns with best mum ever iced on the top If I can work out a way to post them up to them!

Im sure shed prefer that over some make up she wont use- you cant go wrong with cake!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

I'm going to get the kids to paint an old pair of wellies and plant flowers/bulbs in them - one each for my mum and mil. My daughter did one at nursery last year and it looks quite good in the garden.

Homemade always seems to go down better imo and I always try and do something unique. Have done poems and photos in the past. I dressed a £1 teddy bear with items relating to mil's life once and that was a great hit!
