Morning everyone. Re property prices - at least if your home is in negative equity there will be no pressure from creditors for you to sell as there is no equity to release!! House values are just paper figures, totally meaningless. A house is worth only what someone will pay for it. I watched "Relocation, relocation, home and away" last night. This programme often makes me want to chuck a brick through the telly and last night was no different. A couple with children, selling up a hotel in Cornwall and couldn't decide whether to stay in Cornwall or go to the South of France... when you only have a budget of about one million pounds to spend it is such a hard decision!!!!?? They kept turning their noses up at some pretty fantastic properties in both places. It is not envy on my part (really it isn't), I don't begrudge anyone material success if they've worked for it. The people on these programmes seem so ungrateful and unappreciative at times. Anyway, back to my hovel for some breakfast and then crack on with some work for the day...... Good morning and have a good day one and all.

I'm loving the descriptions of the Pied-a-terre's! However, in the Docklands, they are now executive living spaces...

It does make me mad. I think East London saw some pretty extreme price fluctuations. A set of apartments on Royal Albert Dock dropped by £50k whilst the house I'm living in dropped by £80k!!! Yes it was nearly £400,000 when it first went on the market but it's still pretty shocking!

I had my leaving do last night... Feeling for it now! :D I'm currently praying the Ibruprofen will work do I can shower and get ready for a garden party in Pimlico! Ever so terribly middle class! Then another birthday in the evening... And a christening tomorrow over in Watford! Lots of  but I'll be a good boy I will!

I'm also quite chuffed as the OH got was one of the first 2000 people to sign up for a free Taste London card... The level of discounts and the restaurants they've got on the list... I've thrown out my diet plans and just will remain obese! :rotfl:

Edit: I don't know if I told you lot, but I finally got a permenent job... In the financial services and doing the job I want! I'm shocked and numb but also happy! It's only taken 18 months!
 Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!

How do you amass £70k in a year?!

Unfortunately, although "appraised values" are a bit "pie in the sky", they are far from meaningless when you come to remortgage and they're used to calculate the Loan-to-value ratio.

Walshy - enjoy your weekend of socialising.....

I'm home from the ski race and absolutely shattered - I hate the drive back as I am more asleep than awake, despite having drunk gallonloads of coffee......
