Ginger beer - not a recipe

Having finally ordered some proper ginger beer plant with the aim of some traditional brewing I've discovered there is very little history regarding Ginger Beer manufacturing in the UK. I mean, this stuff was made for centuries in the UK it seems, there are collectors that pay a lot of money for ginger beer bottles etc,…

My Guide Captain's dad had a ginger beer plant and would provide alcoholic versions for adults and barely at all versions for children.
I made ginger beer (not from a plant ) as a student and during hard times after as a cheap form of alcohol - I would suggest keeping the bottles in a strong cardboard box with a lid to contain the mess in case if explosions, and to choose plastic bottles over glass for the same reason.
