Redundancy tax problem

in Cutting tax
I have has a 2nd job for sometime now. Occasionally after work and at weekends.
I was made redundant from my main job in February. I have been lucky enough to increase my house on the 2nd job but I think I have therefore been paying too much tax as the tax office have not yet been informed that the 2nd job is now effectively my main job.
What do I need to do to recify the situation? Will I get the tax back?

You need to tell the tax office - unless you do, they won't know! Any tax overpaid in this tax year will come through your pay. Repayment for last year will come from HMRC.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

In fact they should know, because they will have got a copy of the P45. However they're probably too inefficient to do anything about it.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Its nnot a case of HMRC inefficiency - they won't know that the OP is not intending to take on a second job again unless he tells them.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
