Co-op make me laugh

I have just had a real good chuckle.
Co - op have called to say my offer of payment is too low , and they want £160 per month (over two cards)
based on my figures , they say that they will be entitled to it in a court of law.
Now the funny thing is , I have £127 per month for all my creditors.
But , no this doesnt matter, £160 or court. They also stated , that I must find work by April. Note the word MUST. Now how do I do that , if i am spending hours doing forms and onlien applications. Looks like Capital one and EGG are the only ones left who show genuine willingness to help.
So looks like a day trip to the local court soon.
Make me laugh how they expect more.

Stick to the co op dividend card not their credit card. :rolleyes:I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

I suggest that you write a polite letter with another copy of your SoA painstakingly pointing out that you are making a pro-rata distribution of your available income (£127 pm) which is why you are offering £x per month. Ask them to reconsider.
I have always found the Co-Op better than most to deal with, though clearly if you get someone who's had a bad day and feeling !!!!!! off, well we all have those moments.
The strength of your argument is that the courts would view your debts in the same way and the Co-Op would quite likely end up with the same monthly payment if they went for a CCJ.
If they've got a problem with an item on your SoA they should query it and give you the chance to explain.
Keep communicating and you'll probably be OK.0 -
Hi John!

Don't know if you have already but have you thought about contacting The CCCS or Payplan?

I am currently with CCCS using the self help pack due to my low income.
They just make me laugh that they phone saying they want more and when I say which item on my expenses they disagree with , get told that they dont know cos its not in front of them and the computer has asked them to call0 -
yes make the offer of payment and send it ,if it is not acceptable to them tell them to take you to court where you will make the same offer ,these normaly send on to debt collectors fairly quickly again same offer dont be put under preasure only pay whaT YOU CAN AFFORD when you get a job up it , remember if you get hassle from a collection agency which is beyond acceptable (we all have a job to do ) complain to co op and bang a letter of to oft reguards andrew0
