Citifinancial loan paid????
Hi All,
Recently put a claim in for PPI I had on a loan I took out with Citifinancial, they wrote back recently to tell me that they would be paying me the cost of the PPi plus interest on the premiums (I do not see the 8% included in the costing, but that's another matter)
Something else which came to light which is more alarming is the fact that the letter sent to me advised that my loan had been cleared, but to this day Citifinancial are still claiming money from me approximately £2000!
I remembered this had been paid off afterwards as I remember taking out another loan and the loan company wrote a cheque for all of the debts I wanted to pay off!?...
I need to know if I can claim back the charges and all the instalments and default entered against me, this debt had been passed on to two different agencies which I am sure helped to increase the debt back up!
Could use some advise.
Thanks
Chicqa

Is anyone able to offer any advice on this issue please?
Also to add to my case I have found a letter sent to me in 2003 detailing how much I would need to pay as an early settlement to clear the balance. Now my guess is, that they did not bank the cheque straight away in fact, I am sure the other loan company that issued the cheque contacted me as the cheque had not been presented.
Really need some advice as I have been paid nearly £4K for the PPI, but the early settlement would have meant there would have been rebate of interest & insurance both of which combined would come to £6K plus, I need to know if I can claim for this & if so, I would claim also for the 8% on top of this & from the PPI claim payout which they did not pay me.
If someone could help, I would be really grateful.
Thanks

You need to ask for a statment of account and also check with the consoladtion company who they paid0

No just a statement of account. If the cheque originally written for you was never presented for payment then you would owe the outstanding amount.
However as the cheque was never presented the new lender should still have those funds for you?0 -

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
Just to clarify, I didn't say the cheque was never presented, -it was presented quite sometime after I had banked it. Before the account had been passed on to an agency. My apologies if my paragraph was confusing.
I am almost 100% sure they delayed in banking the cheque in order to avoid any form of payout in rebate (if I am entitled to it?- If someone could confirm)

I'm back after a long break...:D
Low and behold I have only just received details from my subject access request in the last couple of weeks!!... It's only taken nearly a year!!...
and all they have sent me is statements of payments made through my IVA.. but I have some major discrepancies that I need help answering..
First Issue
*I have Citi in my IVA- I don't believe I owe money on this debt, their 'initial balance' -they state there was a debt of approx £6,000- but when loan was drafted to the court the amount came in at £1900??
Second Issue
*Within the information sent, a letter from Citi explaining they had NO information on the account I was requesting access for (the ONLY account I had!!)
Third Issue
*Is it worth writing to them again to try and get more information?... How do I make further complaint regarding no information in SAR?
Should I pass to the Ombudsman now?
Fourth Issue
*Can I get this account removed from my IVA and the balance reduced?
Would this deem my IVA invalid?
Would really appreciate some advice please?
Thanks guys!!
