doggie smells

Hi will be letting my holiday cottage this summer and will allow people to bring dogs. The cottage has all stripped pine wooden floors and leather sofas so not much in the way of soft furnishing.

If possible, between occupancies, i would like to all but get rid of the previous doggie smell without resorting to nasty chemical air fresheners if possible. Could i mop the floor with something or spray something non-toxic?

Hi shamac,

By the sounds of it you are planning on doing all that you can so the smell shoudn't be too obvious. I would throw the windows open as soon as the previous guest has left to let as much fresh air in as possible. Mop the floors with your usual cleaner and sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on any carpeted areas, then leave for a couple of hours before vacumming.
