Many people on here work for AQA, but they are now offering more jobs in a different arena, by becoming an AQA2U publisher. "It's based on premium text messages: you enter your content, AQA2U sends it to your subscribers, and then pays you a revenue share". I've started doing it and am hoping to earn some extra pennies! Luke (MEDIA2U)

I would post the link but as I'm a new(ish) user, Im not allowed. Can anyone else? Meanwhile, from a news site:

"AQA2U offers anyone the chance to receive several text messages a month on a regular topic for just a few pence, or send them out and profit from it.
The premise is simple. AQA2U lets you sign up as a publisher under a short and sweet name ending in 2U. All you have to do is start pumping out the info (No more than 14 texts a month or 3 a day) and you’ll receive 7-9p per message per subscriber. And if you’re simply interested in a certain topic, it’s a great way to keep up to date for a maximum of £3.50 a month, plus a 98p initial fee.
Even with just 25 subscribers a year, you can make £275, while 250 AQA2U subscribers could earn you as much as £3,000 a year. AQA’s CEO, Colly Myers says AQA2U is “web 2.0 with a business model”. He’s not wrong: it’s simply up to those web 2.0 users to start subscribing.
Even if you’re not up for publishing anything yourself, AQA2U is still worth signing up for just to get your regular football scores or lotto results at a quarter of the price AQA previously charged, so go test it out!"

I applied for the AQA texter last week and not heard whether I've been successful or not - how quickly do they get back to you? They sent the application out quickly?

reading a bit more in to this, it's not really a cut and dried opportunity to become a big earner.

It says on the website that if you have 25 subscribers to your bulletins and you send out 14 texts per month, you could earn £275 a year.

AQA also charge you 10p to approve each bulletin before sending it to your subscribers, so you could potentially be out of pocket if you do it for a while and don't get any subscribers.

I agree this is unlikely to be a huge earning opportunity, but it might be a relatively easy way of earning a nice bit of pocket money (possibly more than doing surveys, cashback sites etc.).

I think anyone can publish up to 2 topics, so if you can find a couple of topics that attract 50 subscribers each, that's over £1,000 per year for not a lot of effort.

I don't think you can send texts until you have subscribers, so it looks like the maximum you could be out of pocket is 42p per month per topic (if you had 1 subscriber).

I'm trying to think of that one topic that nobody else has thought of but millions would be interested in!! :D

the main thing with this is being able to market it to get the subscribers in the first place, otherwise i quite like the idea

The annoying thing with that will invariably be that you'll spend weeks coming up with "the" idea, only to find someone else has beaten you to it !

I heard back within a couple of days. I was unsucessful
  • I've been a researcher with AQA for nearly a year now and I'm now a current publisher of 2 topics on AQA2U - ROMANCE2U and CHATUP2U.

It is not true that you have to pay 10p to get your texts subscribed. It's totally free for publishers and if you have no subscribers then you can't send out texts - so you can't lose anything! I think this is a great new opportunity for people to make a few extra pennies - so get signed up today!
  • Apologies. You do now pay 10p to get texts approved - this has changed since they let us begin publishing! However, if you have no subscribers then you can't send any texts so you only lose out if you have 1 subscriber.

    Hi Clare,

It looks very interesting. Any tips on marketing you to share? I have an idea for a topic, but how do people know about the service?
