Snowstorm+glycerin- glitter still floats >:(

I got the idea from somewhere to make a snowstorm with my daughter. 2/3 water 1/3 glycerin, glitter plastic toy etc. I actually got quite excited. Did it with her to massive disappointment - glitter still floats! some of it swirls around but a lot of it goes back to top of jar.

Any ideas?

i had this problem with the glitter in ones we made a couple of years ago.

the only one i found which sinks is from early learning, as the flakes are bit bigger.

Thanks for that I'll get some of the bigger ones if I get the chance. I did try, having taking scientific advice from out head of science at school, filling it right to the top so it's almost overflowing. this app gets rid of surface tension which was holding the little bits of glitter at the top. Didn't work perfectly but is now a lot lot better.

    My daughter loves it.
