  • Hello to you all. I would just like to ask Amosworks about the audio books?? Might be a little dim but not sure what they are all about. Could you put me in the picture so to speak as I am as keen as mustard to try out new money making ideas.

    Hi didiken,

Basically audiobooks come in several formats (originally tapes, then CD's and now commonly MP3's) that contain books read aloud to you, often by the author of the book.

You can put them on in your car, or at home on your hi-fi, or on your iPod for example and begin listening. Each chapter of the book is often on a different tape, CD track of MP3 and basically you play them in the logical order.

The benefits of audiobooks are you can obviously quickly skip backwards and forwards through them to find bits you want, it's easy to stop, pause and resume them when convenient and best of all, it leaves you to do other things at the same time!

That's why, in my opinion, audiobooks are so great. With a normal book you can't drive, do housework, take a walk through a park whilst reading. But of course, audiobooks allow you to free up your eyes and hands so that you can do mundane things and learn at the same time, which effectively turns all the mundane tasks in your life in to valuable educational time.

Of course, some audiobooks require you to concentrate a bit more rather than just listen to them, so it's not always advisable to listen to them when you have to do things that require your undivided attention, but I've found that 99% of the things you do at home especially can be done whilst listening to them. It can be quite amazing how you can finish a chapter of an audiobook then wonder how you managed to get through so much of your ironing pile or how much you'd tidied the room up and stuff heh.

Not all audiobooks are educational though, some are fiction. I enjoyed Dan Browns "The DaVinci Code" audiobook and that was thoroughly great. There is a huge selection to choose from and you can get them from many sources.

You can, if you want to be a bit naughty, download them for free from the Internet just as you would download music, or if you want to be nicer about it you could head over to somewhere like audible.com and purchase one legitimately. You can get them via mail order and the like also and have them shipped to you if you want CD's or tapes etc as opposed to MP3s.

    HTH :)

I find the best source of motivation sometimes are Audiobooks. I'm not saying piracy is a good thing, but various BitTorrent sites have some good ones listed :)

I have listened to at least 30 audiobooks relating to millionaires, from studies in to the psychies of the most affluent to guides on rags to riches straight from the horses mouth. They are good because I can do other boring stuff whilst getting motivated (like ironing, washing up etc. although I found out my laptop dislikes getting wet hehe)

The 3 I would recommend most highly are "David Bach - The Automatic Millionaire", "John Cummuta - Transforming Debt in to Wealth" **** THIS IS A MUST THAT ALSO CONTAINS A FANTASTIC NEW WAY OF MAKING COMPOUND INTEREST WORK IN YOUR FAVOUR FOR A CHANGE! **** and the single more important audiobook ever made: "Thomas J Stanley - The Millionaire Mind" - this one turned me upside down as it totally changed my perceptions on millionaires and wealth producing activities. I would wear out my capslock key telling you how important this one is, especially if you used to waste lots of money living the lifestyle like I did.

Ok, so it might be some time before I have my first million in the bank, but by following some of the principals I learnt from these audiobooks, it has made a huge impact on my life already.

Also the John Cummuta method for transforming debt in to wealth shows how anyone can become debt free in 5 years of less, regardless of how much debt you have. It sounded like herecy but when I did the math for myself, I almost ran and hid in a cave lol. Best kept secret or what?! ;)
Excellent tips, thank you. I also find reading a great motivator. It is wonderful to know that there are positive like minded people out there. Will definately check out those books.

  • The key to motivation for me is to focus on acquiring a better life as opposed to an easier life.

Harmless distraction is also good, but I'm not going to suggest masturbation; you know how expensive the opticians can be!
The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics(sic) or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.
