Crafty Ideas needed

I have been persuaded to do a floral display at the local churches flower festival, the theme is "Whatever the weather" does anybody have any ideas of what I can do along this theme.

I can use props aswell as flowers but the only thng I can come up with so far is weddings as these happen whatever the weather but it would be a lot of work to make a dress out of flowers lol!

What a lovely project to be asked to do. You must know a lot about flowers.

A few ideas images came to mind, not what to do with them as such but just brainstorming -.

    1. old fashioned wooden weather house with the lady and man that some people have in their gardens.

    2. Flowers that would normally hold up outside in all weathers

    3. Display based on a parasol

    4. In a shoe? I've seen ones like this that looked good, although hard to describe LOL

Are all the flower arrangers working with the same theme or just you?

Thanks Angela some fab ideas, they are all along the same theme. I know one of the ladies is doing rain stopped play (cricket) and her mum is doing an arrangement based on cricket teas to go alongside it.

    Hi,

I never thought of cricket. I suppose once you get into the right frame of mind it's probably easy to come up with a lot more.

I wonder if anyone will try 'raining cat's and dogs' ? LOL

That reminded me, raining = reigning = royalty?

How lovely are they? I bet you could do cats too. I've seen pages on the web to make the dogs also videos on you tube.

Right back to Noahs Ark - The ark was built because of the rain right?

Whatever the weather - Wimbeldon fortnight will take place?

The dogs are really cute!! I have my meeting tonightand then hopefully I will have abit more of an idea, somebody also suggested April showers bring may flowers. There are lots on rain, I just hope that not everybody else is doing rain otherwise I may have to think again.

Ive quickly googled it and that phrase seems to be one linked to climate change... so in the theme of climate change- polar ice caps - some lovely white icebergy shaped arrangements
A globe - blues and greens for sea and land white for the poles
    An umbrella?
    A bottle of sunscreen?
    A fan?

    Oooh I found this website

Ok its aimed at children but I like the in like a lion out like a lamb phrase on there :)

Thanks everyone, I had the meeting last night and it seems everyone else is thinking along our lines, so my theme is now on the allotment. This should be fairly easy to do and I have a s much room as I want as mine is outside. The only thing is I have to think how to incorporate more flowers in as it cant just be plants and veg etc.

Its in May so I am unsure if sweet peas will be ready otherwise I would have done a wig wam of it, anyone have any ideas?

    Hi candyblue,

    Allotment it is.

Orange flowers to look like a pumpkin?

Or a sort of harvest festival design so you would have real veg as well as flowers.

Alternative idea - what about a miniature garden the sort of things people (like me) into modelling and dollshouses would do. You could buy a kit to make a greenhouse or shed or even an outside toilet! and put in small flowers to resemble larger ones, berries to resemble veg.
