children of murder victims

why dont (guardians of) children who have parents who have been murdered get given an set averge child support payment ?

instead these kids and there familys get nothing, so is it really about child support? or the government getting the pennys ?

these poor children who are just as much victims get nothing, no child support and no government help at all, only the statutory c.b.

is it fair ?

They will receive compensation via the criminal compensation board. As inadequate as that may be.

A Person With Care (guardian/ step-parent, etc) can make a claim for Child Support - was that what the OP was asking?

Simple, there is no parent there to obtain a contribution from!

The Government get nothing, they've potentially lost 2 taxpayers (parents). These kids get whatever there parents chose to think to provide for them - hint pension/property.

these poor children who are just as much victims get nothing, no child support and no government help at all, only the statutory c.b.

Tax credits are payable to guardians (unless of course they earn too much).

    is it fair ?

It isn't a realistic comparison, but we've been here before under your other usernames.
  • yeah my nephews both recieved £30,000 plus upon there 18th birthday for themselves from the criminal injuries board,

but what about there childhood? who supported them then ? there gran did on her pension and family allowance, no child support nor extra help from the government, the father was in jail for the murder and still is thank god

im not just talking about my nephews but this is the case for all children who has a parent who has been killed or died. its not right is it

these kids get nothiung nor have the chance of getting out of child poverty due to the governmet, yet they will pay over £1000 a week for his incarceration
  • oh so these children get nothing

is it there fault ? there guardians are usually the grandparents who are retired
  • just how much does to cost to keep a prisoner in jail try at the moment for 19 years, how much will that of cost ?

never the less these real live children got no help financially for there up brining

    ther mother is dead
    was killed by there father
    and grandparents looked after them
they got no financial help at all
  • getting childen out of poverty ? is that the real claim ? or is it self beneficial ? i.e. gov wants the money ?

That one is for discussion time - maybe we do agree over what should happen to the father!

Guess what Jacklink  if you really knew what you were talking about you would know that a guardian would be able to claim: guardian's allowance, child benefit, child tax credits. If the guardian works they could also get working tax.

Prey tell how do you expect anyone in jail to support their child.
