Childs 12" bike - best place to buy?

Options
Looking for a 1st bike for my DD, have had a look around the usual (argos, halfords, etc) but wondered if anyone knew of any better places to look. Would not mind a second hand one and have been searching ebay and gumtree.
somewhere around belfast/lisburn area would be brilliant.

Thanks

car boot sales are normally the best place to pick one up cheaply, or ask around at your local toddler group/playgroup - offer to pay for it, but it might be refused - we gave our one away for nowt - we were happy someone else could use it.;)

For Lisburn you could try TC Cycles at the Skyline shops in the Harmony Hill Area, if he's still going. I used to work with the owner years ago and he was a decent bloke.

  • The bike dock, Revenhill Road Belfast, or Madigans Carrickfergus if you fancy a day out. We've bought all our bikes at Madigans and generally not much dearer than Halfords, Argos etc and expertly built, lighter weight and fitted exactly to the child..
  • how about smyths toys?

Seconded for Madigans in Carrick, top spot. You could also ask Brian Kinning on the Castlereagh Road if he has any. They may not be cheap if he does, but they will be good quality.

  • John M Hanna cycles in Lisburn usually has second hand bikes for sale or you could try Gumtree.
