Re-selling confectionary- insurance?

Options
Hello,

Does anyone have any idea whether insurance (i.e. public liability) is required when re-selling confectionary bought from a wholesaler? It is not something I would be producing, just selling in the public domain at boot sales etc.

I plan to call an insurance broker tomorrow but I'm pretty sure they'll try to flog me insurance anyway, whether needed or not.

Thanks for any advice
MWA

You should take out public liability insurance, and you may need product liability insurance too. Batch control stuff will be important - remember all those cadbury's chocolate recalls.......?

There were tonnes of sellers flogging bags of sweets, some home made at the Ashley Heath car boot today, would they have insurance then as I never think to ask
