I need a rotary airer which I can remove easily. I'm happy to shell out for a good one but I'm not sure which are good these days.
Suggestions please?

Hi, I use a rotary line, do you mean this, its me being dim I know,
I use an airer inside when its too wet to put clothes on the line
But I don't remove the line outside it just folds up and I put the cover over it
If you mean the line like I mean, (if the above waffle makes any sence) then I can't help on makes but I do know that mine has three sides and these sides are wide enough to hang double bed sheets on, I'll measure these if you want. Then you can look for this size it should say on the description.
We didn't pay much more than about £15.00 from Argos, from memory, I expect you could pay three times that though, if you wanted to. It would be wider at the outside and would be higher as if you had used a prop on a long line.

I want a good one too. I also want to be able to lift it out of its hole and hide it out of sight. I hate looking at it -spoils my garden;)
Any recommendations?0 -
I think we're talking about the same thing Linda......this kind of thing..

I got rid of mine years ago when we made the garden a kid play place but I want one back again now. I intend to concrete in a spike so I can just stick the airer in when I want to use it and take it out and put it in the shed when I need more garden space.
The one I had before had a twist up type mechanism and I was forever trapping the bit of skin between my thumb and forefinger. I cant remember what make it was though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I have a brabantia one, much like the one in the link actually, they are a bit more expensive than some others, but the quality is fantastic and they last for years and years.
You can buy a spike to go in the grass, you don't need to concerete it in, its a simple 5 minute job, mine has been in two years, and is still completly upright.
I love mine, it takes a huge amount of washing, I can't reccommend them enough, and no I dont work for Brabantia0 -

OUCH!!!! yes we are talking about the same thing, its just I leave mine where it is. I expect you would have to pay more for one you want to move about. Mine just stays where it is with a cover over it. I do use my garden mind, I just position plants around it.
Looking on the argos website if I was buying now I'd go for the 40m 3 arm rotary dryer £19.49. The 4 arm would be too big for the area where mine is. I'd be certain I could get bed clothes along that side arm.
The others IMO are just too expensive for a line, the £19.00 one wouldn't be false economy which I certainly don't do.
As far as brands go I would imagine any of the others are just as good as each other.0 -
also known to me as a wirly gig hahait costs nothing to smile:D0

Yes, we call them that too.
All I know is that DH recommends the little bags of quick-setting concrete for the base. Available from B&Q. Don't site it in a boggy bit of garden, though, or the concrete itself will fall over (it has happened to us)0 -
We have a Brabantia one - just bought last year to replace our old one which had seen better days. Our new one is great, £40 including the ground spike (but this was bought at an agricultural show and usually retails @ £50ish) and it is huge, can get five loads of washing on it with plenty of space between the lines to allow them to flap and air circulate - now I just need to buy more pegs!!!
I wouldn't have another cheap one and it is great to be able to take it out of the ground and put behind the shed out of site. A word of warning though - when you put your ground spike in, use a spirit level. Ours has a very slight lean on it which when you get to the top of the arm becomes quite major - the rotary is in direct line of the kitchen window and I always find myself leaning over to the angle of it when stood at the sink - very annoying!!!!!0 -
I think ours is a Brabantia one. It's four sided (IYSWIM) and can fit loads on. Costco quite often sell them although I am not sure if they are any cheaper than elsewhere.
I wouldn't buy a cheap one personally. Mine gets left out in all weathers but because it's such a good make it's standing the test of time.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Thanks very much everyone. Looks like I'll be looking at Brabantia then.
Will bear in mind the spirit level advice. Lol @ the leaning at the kitchen sink.Herman - MP for all!0
