Does anyone know how to clean satin heels?
DD has a pair of silver satin high heels that she wants to wear tonight and the ends of the heels are grubby . There is no mud - just grubby marks.
Thanks

what colour are they as black is a more forgiving colour to clean ,try just giving them a rub with a dry or slightly damp cloth0

I know that you can clean satin pointe shoes with surgical spirit, although it doesn't get that much muck off. It might be worth a go though, but try first on an inconspicuous area.
If you google 'cleaning satin pointe shoes' it brings up a few other ideas - some people suggest bicarb pastes etc.0 -
Try rubbing with dry white bread or even a soft rubber. I must admit I cleaned a pair of beaded apple green satin flatties with a gentle liquid soap and a soft nail brush and they turned out ok0

Thank you everyone. I have used the white bread tip - it has worked to some extent. It would have been more effective (I think) if the marks were fresh, but these shoes have not been worn for 3 years (worn once to a summer ball - guess what - this outing tonight is to a ball too).
How do I tell DD a bit of foresight would have gone a long way...... without sounding like I am nagging?0
