Nope. Remember, I didn't have anywhere near as far as you to go, and you have done soooooo well.
I'm jealous of Ms_London's massive savings

I dont think my savings are massive, it doesnt feel like it's my money to be honest!!
Really dont want to do my sat job anymore, its making me miserable!! Can anyone advise? (or tell me that its ok to give it up!!) :0)0 -
Sorry you're miserable! It's hard if it's every weekend. I only do a couple a month so it's not so bad.
How much do you make after tax from it? Can you bear to lose that? Could you get something else that is slightly more occasional? Or just Saturday mornings?
What is it that's getting you down? Can you deal with that? It could be the weather - I am very down right now but I know it's cos it's wet and windy and I can't go outside (or my hair will go mad).

Ms London, try to stick out the job if you can hun, it will be sooo worth it to bump up your amazing savings, however if its starting to affect your health physically and emotionally then that is different. You have done incredibly well to get to the stage you are at and the finish line is almost in sight. There is an end to this and the job will not have to last forever just keep imagining getting on the plane off to Oz now how jealous will we all be on here!!!! I am having to force myself to go in to work for a night shift tonight and I really, really don't want to but if I do I've promised myself I will pay off my NEXT account tomorrow when I get home! I think you need to give yourself image incentives for the extra work you are putting on, the end will certainly justify the means.

Thank you!! (and sorry to hijack your thread skintchick!!).
It took a long while to enjoy my weekends again (after having worked p/t for 2 years on top of f/t job) and I had just started going to BP on sat mornings, and now because I cant do that I feel miserable. Although I might not have anything planned for the weekends, I like feeling "Yaaaay, its the weekend" on Friday, whereas, right now I think "Boooo, I've got to work tomorrow!!".
Its £45 per shift after tax (9-4) and is only up the road from home. Its quite an easy job, but it is just making me feel miserable and I cant explain why. I know it is only for the short term & the money is definately helping - god knows how I managed it for 2 years!!!
I think its because I feel like I am restricted. Am I making any sense? :0)0 -
Yes you are. My Sat job pays me £106 after tax per shift (although is 50 miles away in London) so it feels worth it, but I wouldn't want to do it every week.
What's BP?????
How much difference does that £180 a month make? Could you bear not to have it and have less savings to go travelling with?
Or do you think that you'll feel better about it in a while and this is just a blip?
you have to weigh up the pros and cons and decide how you feel. There's no shame in packing it in. xxx:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Wow!! That's a good wage!!! But like you say it's 50 miles away....
BP - Bodypump... Nothing exciting but I really enjoy it, and havent been in AGES now!! It is on at other times/days etc, but I liked the Sat Morn Instructor (Vin Diesel lookalike!!)..
Between now & when I go it will mean an extra £1000+ - which is a lot of money, but then so many people I have spoke to are only going the minimum £2,000 - so I wonder if I am trying to save too much (hence why I have got rid of the "£10,000 aim" in my signature...).
I am going home this weekend, but really want to go tonight rather than wait til tomorrow. I am just moaning. :0)0 -
hey skintchick - you go girl!
any idea what you are going to do with the extra money each month when it is finally yours?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
