I've found the opposite tbh. I live in the middle of nowhere so the delivery charge is cheaper than my petrol. If I'm in a supermarket I spot special offers and interesting stuff I don't need, pop them in my trolley get to the checkout and think oops!! Whereas if I shop online I stick to my list.
I tend to do an online shop and buy some bits cheaper in Farmfoods and Aldi.

I find the opposite to be true also. I find it harder to find those tempting multibuys, special prices, etc so I tend to just get what I need.

I find I'm less tempted by online offers too. Before I checkout, I usually run through the items in my basket and end up deleting items I've changed my mind about - saves me money too. I'm definately more tempted by all the offers instore.

Opposite for us also. Although some of that we have to put down to discovering Sainsburys online and their Basics range...

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • Me to. I find online shopping easier and cheaper. Then again I make a meal plan and list and then double check going through it, do I need it just yet, will we eat it or more like will the kids/hubby eat it. I just hate visiting the supermarket full stop. Worth a try though, then you'll know. Also read some good budgetting threads on here.

I spend so much less shopping on-line - i chuck stuff into my *basket* and then at the end delete half of it as i did not really want it !

If i go to a real shop i cannot do that and am also tempted by all the goodies in the shop.
It's not paranoia if they really are after you.

i also live in a rural area and it saves petrol, time and money just to get it all delivered,

i only shop online once a month then i`ll do a small top up in the middle of the month,
shopping online stops me adding just anything to my basket and ive had hardly any food waste at all this year.

i am hoping to do a bulk buy from farm foods / netto / aldi some time soon, ive a huge deep freezer and plenty of space in the garage not been used.
