Mobile bar Hire

Hello - Think ive found my ideal venue in West Yorks for evening do. Has own kitchen, outside bit, is near my house and can use own caterers.
Doesnt have a bar though!
Does anyone have any knowledge of the mobile ones you can hire? Ive looked at a few and they look abit posh to be honest... all fancy lights and with fish and stuff in. Bit too much finery for there actual purpose (serving drinks!). Ive sent off for quotes.
Anyone else had this dilemma? As much as I would like to provide all the drink there is no chance on my budget... any ideas guys?

we have the same issue and the outside bars are very expensive so...
we're doing an honesty box system. we're going to the cash and carry to get about £300 in booze, and will have an honesty box system of £1 a drink. So it wont be very posh, just cans and plastic glasses, but everyone will appreciate that it will be a much cheaper night out than paying bar prices, and hopefully we'll only make a little loss, or break even.
I'd be interested to know what other people thik of this idea, and hope this helps youBecoming Mrs F 7/11/09 :happyhearMember 265 of Murphy's No More Pies Club - 11lb/42lb:dance:I will look good in my wedding dress, I will I will!0 -
Thanks for that - Not a bad idea at all! Dont know what my gran would think of it however.
Think there is a gap in the market here for cheapo bars for weddings etc.... they really are stupidly priced AND THEN they keep all the profit! any further ideas gladly accepted.0 -

If its any help, my dad used to have a pub and did a mobile bar twice for friends weddings. He borrowed all the equipment from the brewery (his supplier) and just billed his friend for the couple of extra staff he hired and the cost of the occasional licence.
Do you have any publican friends who might be able to help? It did look lovely both times they did it as the mobile bar was in a little marquee with fairy lights everywhere. Why not ask your local pub if they can help? They might be able to point you in the right direction if not?
Failing that, my dad also supplied us at Christmas time with a mini keg of beer, which again he got from the brewery. You might be able to order one directly from a brewery?? You wouldn't be able to charge for this though, as you'd need a licence?
Hope this helps?

I saw a bar hire company at the Essex Wedding Fayre and they looked quite basic. Unfortunately I didn't take their details.
What about companies that do the beer tents at fairs and festivals?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Hi,
i have used tipplesbar before, they offer a few options ,
full bar service : staff at bar serve drinks and guests either pay for own drinks or you put a tab behind the bar
mobile bar service: staff will serve drinks you have purchased .
i cant remember the exact prices but it is alot cheaper than using a hotel bar and if your venue does not have a license to serve alcohol they will apply for the license for 1 day for that venue.
they are based in shrewsbury but travel all over the uk
if you want any more info let me know
