to plant or not?

Options
Hi,i'm after some advise,we keep some chickens on a plot of land, there is loads of spare ground,so we thought of planting some veg,it is lovely soft soil, but it has not been used for roughly 15 years.somebody said if i plant in it,it will be full of weavels(are they grubs?),so just plant potatoe's.
is that so all grubs will go into growing potatoes, and just throw them away??

Unless it's a known problem in your locality, no problem.
Taters are usually grown in virgin land, because that way the soil will get well and truly turned over, both on planting and on harvesting.
Nice that you have light soil, same as mine. Heavy soil is good for greens and clay is next to useless for growing roots.
