Bitter/metallic taste in mouth

Hello, hope this is in the right section. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had a bitter/metallic taste in their mouth, only when eating and has found it happens a couple of days after eating pine nuts as I think thats whats happening to me at the moment?
I know it sounds a bit strange and may not be due to the nuts, but would be interested to see if this has happened to other people too. (have had my teeth checked, but its not that)

This is quite a normal problem with pine nuts
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_nut
which says
Risks of eating pine nuts
The eating of pine nuts can cause serious taste disturbances, developing 1-3 days after consumption and lasting for days or weeks. A bitter, metallic taste is described. In general, a minority of pine nuts on the market present this problem. Though very unpleasant, there does not seem to be a real health concern.0 -

Thanks - I'd never heard of this before.0 -
Thanks Maltesers, feel better after reading that.
I thought I may have been imagining it, glad to see there should be no long term problems. I think it may even do me good in the short term as chocolate tastes disgusting so there is no point eating it!!
Juniee.....yes i have calmed down now.;) I already have 2 grown up children and wasn't planning to having another one.0 -
I had the same problem a few years ago. Craved lemonade to take the taste away, then couldn't drink it because it tasted wrong.
Also very tired & quite dizzy. Blood tests showed i had a B12 defiency and very low folate levels. Now have b12 injuections & take folic acid every day.0 -

OMG! I was feeling like a freak, I developed this about 2-3 weeks ago. With hindsight, I bought a bag of pine nuts around the same time and they've been sitting in my desk at work and I've been picking at them now and again! It all makes perfect sense. You're right, it's a really horrible taste, I find it's particularly bad after dairy products?? Thank you so much for posting this! (And there's no possible way I'm pregnant!)0
