I once met Alan at a car boot sale in Milton Keynes.

My sister wrote to him c/o the BBC (or ITV, whichever channel he works for) as our little neice (8 yrs old) was a huge fan and it was her birthday coming up. He wrote a lovely letter back to my neice with a few packs of seeds in as a gift. He was really lovely.0
