wholemeal flour problem

in Old style MoneySaving
hi all,

i seem to be struggling to find self raising wholemeal flour but can get hold of plain wholemeal. could i add baking powder or something to it to make it self raising and if so how much should i add?

    I found this elsewhere on the forum a while ago:

    For each 1/2pound 227g of plain flour use level teaspoons as:-
    scones, bread 4
    fruit cake 3
    sponge 3
    steamed pud 3
    shortcrust pastry 1

    although that's probably referring to white flour - wholemeal is heavier so might need a touch more.

    & I got some from Tesco this week. It's Allinsons but I think they stock other brands too.
