Mortgage application question
fresco
Hiya, I was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me.
My sister recently applied for a mortgage and got turned down because of a payment that she had not told the bank about. We looked at her credit report and this payment was not on it. (nor did she know anything about it)
She has a financial association with my mum who has a payment coming out of her account that matches the specific amount the bank said it was for..
Are banks allowed to credit search someone with whom you have an expired (as in paid off) financial link without that person's knowledge?
Many thanks for reading

YES YES YES.

(A) This should have been brought up in the mortgage appt. Deceiving the company is wrong. But no company will specifically tell you the problem.

(A) As you said! Credit search! All information will be traced up to 6 years. They have right. They are borrowing the money.
I suggest you to ask specifically what the problem was. If she has proof that your mum is paying the direct debit they may discount it. But.... if it was taking out on her credit! She has legal responsibility and will be included in her affordability.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'
Remember to say thank you to people who help you out!
Also, thank you to people who help me out.0 -
Sorry I wasn't clear, my mum has the direct debit, it has nothing to do with my sister, my mum pays it out of her own bank account. The financial association was 7 years ago and paid in full, it has nothing to do with the current payment that is being attributed to my sister. The mortgage company seem to have taken a payment that is solely my mun's and attributed it to my sister. Many thanks for your reply0
