Smear test question

I'm due a smear test and will be making my appointment on monday, but im still unsure when I should have it done. I always assumed 2 weeks after period. Is this right?
I'm pretty regular(28-29 day cycle) and my last period finished 4 days ago. Thanks.

    Hi Claire,
I went recently and it was about a week after my period. I was just told by my dr that it was ok as long as you weren't due on/just come off.

Thank you. That does make more sense actually as alot of women are irregular. Will see if they can fit me in next week then:eek:

  • I agree with Tre-Beam. Not a pleasant experience but should be done anyway, they have now slightly changed the way they do them now, not less uncomfortable or embarassing, but no worse either.

Should be approx mid cycle for most accurate results, so you are ok with making your appointment on Monday. Good luck!

I felt  too, esp due to a bit of a bad experience last time.

The nurse was fantastic though and it was fine and a relief to get it over and done with.

I'm sure I won't be quite so positive when it's my turn again though! :o
