Cancelling a loan

Hi this is the first time I have used this but wonder if anyone can help. My partner signed up to become a driving instructor with a year free finance for the course and then he had to start paying for the course after that year (through Barclays Finance)
Due to a change in circumstances & financial issues we have written letters trying to cancel the agreement, unfortunately they will not let this happen saying its too late, although he hasnt had any correspondance from them nor done any courses, so hasnt benefited from the course. Can anyone help we are unable to afford this loan, if we dont pay he defaults on a loan!!!! Can anyone suggest where to go or what to do? They have been SO unhelpful and rude on the phone & by letter we are getting nowhere. Help appreciated

The finance company have paid the money to the driving school - so you owe the money whether he has done the courses or not?

I do not think there is anything he can do - a visit to CAB is a must.

Sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear.
