Free Books From London Tube Stations

A novel alternative to the free newspapers:
Choose What You Read is our reaction to the tonnes of free newspapers dished out and thrown away every day. We'd like to give you the opportunity to read a book instead, donated by the public to go back out into the public once finished.

On the first Monday of every month you will find us dishing out second hand books at selected London Underground stations. We’d like to give you the opportunity to choose a novel over a free paper. We love reading, we’re pretty sure you do too.

Here’s how it works; so you’ve met us, you’ve got your book and now you’re finished with it. What do you do next? Go to our website (http://www.choosewhatyouread.com/) to find a list of our drop boxes or hand it back to us in person the following month and we’ll do our best to pass it on. Like a library, but without the fines.

Next Opening Hours: Tuesday 5th May (on account of the Bank Holiday)
17.00-19.00 at the following London stations:
Liverpool Street
Waterloo
Westminster
Euston
Paddington

Look out for us outside the stations. We'll be the ones holding the large lollipop signs. Anyway, we’ll stop bothering you now. Thanks for listening. See you out there.

so i give u an old book and ull give me a different on back?
  • No, the newspaper articles I read just say they are giving out second-hand books to anyone who wants them as an alternative to the thousands of freebie newspapers that get thrown away daily. The idea is that, once you've finished with it, you hand it back for someone else to enjoy (& presumably can donate any of your own old books to add to the scheme).

    Sounds a fun idea :rotfl:

Yeah but there are no sudokus in the books!

Thanks OP- wonder if there will be any available by the time I get to any of the stations (can foresee many people thinking they will take 3 or 4 of the freebies, because they are free) fingers crossed!
