Had a snot-o-gram from them stating I have 14 days or they will start enforcement proceedings for a debt I have with 1st Credit (bast*rds they are).
Anyone dealt with Connaught, what are they like? Would I be able to come to some arrangement with them. I'm planning a holding position until I get a rented property in June then go BR if Vertex withdraw which I think may happen.

MM. Most DCAs new to a debt and victim will introduce themselves with a letter like this.
 Dear Mr MM
 PRE LITIGATION PROCEEDINGS
Debt outstanding: £XXX.XX Account: YYYY Complete balance is now due within 7 days.
This account has now reached the stage of consideration for court proceedings. This may lead to the following:- CCJ being granted.
- Attachment of earnings order to your employer.
- Charging order on your property.
- Removal of your property by a Bailiff

You can prevent this important action by phoning us now on 0870 1234 1234
 Yours
 Mr B*stard
 Litigation Dept
 DCA Ltd.
This is a standard letter that actually means:
 Hi Mr MM
We have just purchased your debt (or been instructed by Bank PLC) of £XXX.XX. Much like buying a lottery ticket may lead to a windfall, if we decide to apply for a CCJ, it may be granted. If you then fail to keep up with the payment plan you agree with the court, nasty stuff could happen. No personal visit is ever likely to occur. We would very much like you to call us on 0870 1234 234 to arrange a payment plan.
On your part, you could apply for a CCA - this usually stops action until they can find one.Had a snot-o-gram from them stating I have 14 days or they will start enforcement proceedings for a debt I have with 1st Credit (bast*rds they are).

Connaught (1st Credit) sent two statutory demands to OH and have acted on neither of them.
They had one of my debts (can't remember which now) but were all mouth and no action. Personally, I would ignore it. It would be passed to their "legal" team first who would send you another letter, then another then court papers and another 30 days until anything happened. And if it did get to court stage then I think that would be a long way off.
*If* a CCJ is applied before BR - which is really unlikely - then BR trumps it anyway and it gets wiped out.
 I would ignore them.0

There is already a CCJ on this debt. They've been instructed to enforce it? Any thoughts?"What does not kill you makes you stronger"0

Is the agreed payment plan affordable? If not, I think you need to speak to NDL.BSC No 248

I've not made a payment plan yet, I will talk to Connaught and see what they come up with."What does not kill you makes you stronger"0

I think it is unlikely that they will be fobbed off for as long as it takes for you to go BR. You could insist on doing everything in writing, this will slow things up (if they honour it).
The CCA route has dissapeared for you as a delaying tactic too, since the CCJ legally establishes the debt.
I am not sure if you can safely 'ignore' the bailiff but this will start trench warfare - maybe someone else could advise?BSC No 248

I found this inforamtive re Bailiffs:

If you are adopting a strategy of not paying you will be starting trench warfare. Make sure you know the debt will not give them rights to enter your home. And I would suggest you get hold of Herbie21, either PM or at http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/
Good luck MM. Keep us posted.BSC No 248
