Hi all I have noticed that the restrictions for hand luggage are a lot less than any other airline so your carry on bag has to be a lot smaller, I am thinking of this for carrying your wedding dress on. After some great help on another board I have found a website www.theemptyboxcompany.com

We are flying with Thomas Cook to cyprus and they are letting us have another 20kg of hold luggage for all our wedding attire, instead of having to fit it all in 2 suitcases. If anyone is getting married abroad and flying with Thomas Cook it might be worth asking if you can have this as well x:love: Getting married 23/09/09

Sorry Lindsey but £50 seems a bit much for a box!! On the Landy thread Louiae posted a link to a seller on ebay who does XL gown bags including postage it's less than £6, I appreciate it's different if your flying though.Ebay is my saviour for everything!!:rotfl:

I've ordered one of these, thought £6 was a bargain!! I looked at the boxes and even on ebay i thought they were quite expensive for what they are x:love: Getting married 23/09/09Mummy to a beautiful little boy-Jake Aged 2

Wish I could help more Lindsey, have tried a search on google maybe have a look at the results, seems like some people just stroll onboard with the dress in a bag and get away with it, but I'd be a bit stressed out by worrying they would take it off me. Have you got your dress yet? I can't remember what style your getting.Booo!!!0

Hi lindsey,
if u don't mind me asking was just wondering if you had figured out how you are taking your dress on the plane yet? I really don't know what to do with mineI've bought on of the dress bags but i'm unsure about putting my dress in a suitcase coz i don't want it to be really creased when i get there, and then not have anywhere to get it steamed to get the creases out. Are the boxes you can buy hand luggage size? My dress is quite big as well so worrying that it won't actually fit in one of these boxes? I'm probably stressing about nothing but just wondered if you had any ideas?

I think this is the only option I have as I think I would have to pay extra to put it in a suitcase and I think I would panic too much that way!

Hi Lindsey, I was looking at the Wedding dress storage box's not travel box's so they aren't as pricey as I first thought:o so sorry.
Anyhoo - they have one's specially for Thomas cook brides it does say that Thomas Cook have restricted hand luggage of 42 x 27 x 22 cm,, that really is quite small isn't it.Booo!!!0 -

i know its crap that Thomas Cook has to be different, even more so as we were booked with BMI but they cancelled their flights from Manchester, never mind!
